At the Bottom of the Boat

Have you ever been in those storms where waves crash and fear screams, "We're going down!"?
I know I have. I'd pray frantically, demand answers, try to bail water myself—until exhausted and still sinking.
Then the Lord drew me to that boat story, you know the one: Jesus asleep in the chaos. And He invited me down to the bottom with Him.
If your life feels like a raging sea right now—grief, bad news, endless questions keep reading.
The Disciples' Panic—Our Panic
Winds howl, boat fills with water, disciples freak: "Teacher, don't You care if we drown?"
Jesus? Sleeping peacefully at the bottom.
He wakes, calms the storm, then asks gently: "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"
The secret? He wasn't worried because He knew the Father's heart—always good, always present.
Down to the Bottom
I call it "going to the bottom of the boat"—that place of surrender.
Stop fighting the waves alone.
Stop demanding God explain or control everything.
Be fully here, right now—with Jesus.
Present to the Father, Son, and Spirit who live in you.
That's where peace is. Not in fixed circumstances, but in stubborn trust: "You're good, even in this mess."
God's Not the Storm-Maker
Here's something important: God doesn't send tragedies to "teach" us—like floods killing innocents.
No—a loving Father doesn't orchestrate evil.
He grieves with us. Enters the pain.
His love doesn't control—it respects, and redeems.
Finding Him in the Chaos
When fear roars, climb down to the bottom.
Surrender control.
Be present.
Listen for His voice: "Peace. I'm here."
Love changes storms—His perfect love, working through us.
No More Panicking Alone
Your boat may rock, but Jesus is in it—and He's not worried.
Prayer
Father,
We've panicked so long—demanding answers, blaming You for waves You didn't send. Forgive us for missing Your heart.
Enable us to surrender, be present, trust Your uncontrolling love.
Quiet the storm inside us with Your nearness.
We're resting with You now.
In Jesus' calm name,
Amen
