For all the fullness of God’s being dwells bodily in Christ. And you have been brought to fullness in him. Christ is the head over every ruler and authority. Colossians 2:10 EHV
You’re Already Full—No “Ifs” or “Buts” About It
I want to share a little secret from Colossians 2:10 that’s like finding a hidden treasure in the Bible.
The verse says, “You have been brought to fullness in him.” Now, that’s not some “maybe someday if you try hard enough” message. Nope! It’s “You. Are. Full.” Right now. No waiting.
What Does “Fullness” Even Mean?
The original Greek word there is pleroma—a fancy word that just means “fullness” or “complete.”
Imagine you’ve poured a glass of water, and it’s filled right to the brim. No gaps. No leaks. That’s what Jesus does for you spiritually. He fills you up so there’s nothing missing.
I love this because it reminds me that God isn’t just one part of our lives or one piece of the puzzle.
He’s the whole picture. The complete, perfect filling. When Jesus lives in you, you are made whole. Simple as that.
Why Don’t We Always Feel That Full?
Here’s the honest part—sometimes we don’t feel full or complete.
We look at our mistakes, our struggles, and say, “Well, I’m not there yet.” But feeling full and being full aren’t the same thing.
The Holy Spirit gently whispers, “You are complete in Jesus, whether you feel it or not.”
Sometimes churches and teachings put so much emphasis on what we do—rules to follow, good habits to build—that it feels like we’re always trying to climb a mountain.
But Jesus says, “Jump off the mountain. You’re already at the top.”
How to Live Like You’re Full
So, what does this look like day-to-day? It means instead of exhausting yourself trying to fix every flaw, you rest in the fact that Jesus has already filled you.
You stop chasing perfection and start enjoying peace.
Think of it as having a big, warm blanket wrapped around you. You don’t have to earn it or stretch to reach for it—it’s already there. You just need to cozy up and trust it will keep you safe.
A Little Encouragement for Today
If you’re feeling tired or empty, remember this—You are full in Christ. Not because of what you’ve done, but because of what He has done.
That’s the kind of fullness that changes everything.
So take a deep breath. Smile a little. And live from the fullness you already have. Jesus has got you.
