Miracles Are Great—But Let’s Know God’s Ways!

What's the Difference?

Psalm 103:7 says, “He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the sons of Israel.”

Here’s the deal: there are two ways we can get to know God—by what He does (His “acts”), or by understanding who He is deep down (His “ways”). Simple, right?

Moses Wanted More Than Miracles

Imagine having a friend who only calls when they want something. That gets old quick!

Moses didn’t want to know God just for the what He could give. He actually wanted to know what made God tick—His heart, His thoughts, His love.

So Moses prayed, “Let me know your ways!” (That’s in Exodus 33:13.)

The Israelites Missed Out

Now, the people of Israel saw jaw-dropping miracles—food from the sky, a sea splitting in half—you name it.

But they always seemed worried, impatient, and ready to complain. Why? Because even with all the miracles, they never really prayed, “Let me know your ways?”

They just wanted more miracles!

What About Us?

If we’re honest, sometimes we do the same thing. It’s easy to pray about our problems, asking God to fix this or that, and then forget about getting to know Him as our loving Father.

But here’s the good news: when we spend time with God (just being real with Him), we start to understand His heart.

That helps us trust Him, even when life gets a little bumpy.

Try This Next Time You Pray

Instead of just listing what you want God to do, pause and think, “Who is God to me right now?”

Is He my Helper? My Hope? Your Health? Thank Him for who He is, not just what He does.

Bottom Line

Miracles are exciting—but knowing God’s heart is even better. So, let’s not just settle for answered prayers. Let’s go for a real relationship.

That’s what Moses did. And honestly, it changes everything!
