Garments from Jesus

Giving a white robe to someone
Giving a white robe to someone
Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame. —Revelation 16:15

Dressed for Success? Not Quite!

Let’s be honest—Jesus isn’t handing out fashion advice here!

The folks in Laodicea had fancy wardrobes and plenty of spending money, but that wasn’t what mattered to Him.

Jesus looked past all those fine clothes and said, “Buy from Me…white garments, that you may be clothed.” (Revelation 3:18)

Fig Leaves and Fashion Shows

Mankind’s first attempt at “covering up” happened in the Garden of Eden—with fig leaves. Spoiler alert: Not a great look, and definitely not foolproof.

Fast forward a few thousand years and here we are, with a fashion industry worth billions, still coming up with creative ways to hide what’s underneath.

But the real problem isn’t solved by a fancy suit or designer dress. Our spiritual nakedness—our sin—can’t be hidden by what we wear on the outside.

Grace, Not Shame

Here’s the beautiful part: Jesus isn’t waiting to embarrass anyone.

He’s not in the business of shaming people; He’s full of mercy and love. He offers us garments that are always clean and completely acceptable.

You don’t have to worry about looking good enough or hiding the stains that only He can see.

Keeping Your Clothes On (The Spiritual Kind!)

So what’s our job?

It’s not rocket science—just keep those “white garments” on! That means turning away from sin with honest repentance, and keeping our hearts wide open toward Him.

If we do that, we’ll never have to worry about the day He returns. Instead of scrambling for cover, we’ll be confidently clothed in His grace.

So, friend, don’t lose your spiritual clothes. God’s wardrobe is mercy and grace—and it never goes out of style.

And when Jesus comes back, you’ll be dressed just right…even if you’re still wearing your old gardening pants! Devotionals
