Practical Ways to Stay Anchored

A young man reading the Bible and pointing to heaven
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. – Isaiah 26:3
If you’ve turned on the news lately, you know the world can get loud and overwhelming. In the middle of all this noise, God still offers a “no-panic zone”—a peaceful heart grounded in Him.
Anchored in the Storm
When life turns up the volume, I start by taking a deep breath. Sometimes I even say out loud, “Lord, help me fix my eyes on You, not my worries.”
Whether I’m stuck in traffic, facing bad news, or just feeling frazzled, I find peace in small, steady practices:
Reading a favorite Psalm,
Singing a quiet hymn,
Remembering God’s promises—especially when my heart feels jumpy.
Peace One Step at a Time
God doesn’t ask us to pretend everything’s perfect. Instead, He invites us to trust Him with our loudest fears and let Him carry the weight.
His peace isn’t about escaping the world, but learning to rest right in the middle of it—one step, one prayer, one steady heart at a time.
Questions to Ponder:
What has been making my world feel loud or frantic lately?
What helps me remember and choose God’s peace when anxiety tries to take over?
