Do You Really Trust God

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. -Jeremiah 29:11–13

The Trust Game

I’ve played the “trust game” more than a few times over the years. You know the one—stand with your back to a trusted friend, close your eyes, and fall backward, trusting they’ll catch you.

Sounds simple enough… until your mind starts coming up with scenarios about broken ribs and emergency room visits.

Now, here’s the thing: trusting God is a lot like that. Except, instead of one friend catching you, you’ve got the Creator of the universe holding you up.

And unlike your buddy Bob (who may or may not be paying attention), the Lord will never miss. His hands are strong, steady, and already there before you start to fall.

His Promise Is Personal

Jeremiah 29:11–13 is one of those passages that you’ve probably heard on graduation day, at weddings, or printed inside cards.

But it’s more than a pretty Bible verse—it’s a declaration straight from God’s heart to yours: He knows the plan. He’s not in the business of harming you.He wants you to have hope and a future.

The promise isn’t vague. It’s personal. He’s saying, “When you seek Me with your whole heart, you’re going to find Me.

And when you talk to Me, I’m listening.” That’s not polite nodding from a distracted friend—that’s deep, intentional attention from the Almighty.

The Step We Skip

Whenever you’re facing a major life choice—taking a new job, moving to a new town, starting something or ending something—the most important step is often the one we forget: invite Him to lead.

Just pause and ask, “Lord, where do You want me to go?” Then keep seeking. Keep listening.

This isn’t about getting a detailed map right away—it’s about walking with the Guide. And if you trust Him, you’ll notice He doesn’t just point; He walks beside you the whole way.

It sounds nice and churchy, I know. But when you actually do this, and you see Him working in your life in ways that defy logic, it changes you.

I’ve seen people step into impossible situations—calm, steady, full of joy—because they’re convinced God is leading them. And I’ve been one of those people myself.

“What If I Don’t Like Where He’s Leading?”

A fair question. Sometimes trust isn’t just hard—it’s uncomfortable.

I’ve had people tell me they’re afraid to follow God’s direction because the path looks rough, uncertain, or downright impossible. They feel too small for the task, too flawed to succeed.

But if God is giving clarity, it won’t be wrapped in fear. Fear is not His language. That anxious knot in your stomach—that comes from the enemy or your own self-doubt, not from the Lord.

If He’s leading you somewhere, it’s because He’s already made a way there. And remember, His grace and strength arrive with the assignment, not after you’ve proved yourself worthy.

Let Go and Lean Back

My friend, trusting God isn’t about knowing exactly how it will end—it’s about being sure who’s holding you up along the way.

His plans for you are good, His timing is perfect, and His presence will never leave you.

So the next time doubt sneaks in, picture yourself in that trust game. Lean back. Let go. And smile—because your Father’s hands have never dropped anyone yet.
