DAY 25 – Proclaiming Christ in Every Season by Pastor Dick
And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.—Colossians 4:3–4 (NIV)
Paul’s Unshakable Conviction: Christ Is Enough
The apostle Paul had something most of us wish for—an unshakable faith that Christ is enough, no matter what life throws at him.
Picture Paul sitting in a prison cell, maybe chained, walls closing in. Most of us can’t imagine that kind of hardship.
But Paul? Even there, in the thick of it, his heart’s mission burned bright: to share the amazing mystery of Christ.
Prison Walls Didn’t Stop Paul
Paul wrote this letter while behind bars—real chains and real walls. Yet he didn’t let his circumstances drown out his calling.
Instead, he asked for prayer. He asked that God would “open a door” for His message and that he might speak clearly.
It’s the kind of bold hope that reminds us we don’t have to wait for everything to be perfect to share God’s love.
Trusting God When Doors Close
Have you ever felt a door slam shut on your dream? Maybe a job loss, a family need, or a ministry that looks different than you planned.
It’s frustrating and sometimes heartbreaking. But Paul’s example reminds us: God sees our closed doors. He sees where we are.
And when we’re willing, He can turn even the hardest seasons into opportunities for His work.
Finding New Ways to Proclaim Christ
Last year might have thrown us curveballs we never asked for. Like Paul, we can learn to see possibilities through those challenges.
Maybe it means sharing Christ in new ways—on a phone call, through a kind note, or in a quiet prayer with a neighbor.
When worry or fear try to knock us down, Jesus says, “Bring it to Me.” His presence is our rest and strength.
Christ Is Enough—Always
No matter what season or chains we face, Christ remains enough. He is our hope and joy, in every circumstance.
Reflection Questions
Why did Paul ask the Colossians to pray for him and his ministry?
When did you last ask a friend to pray for you? How might prayer change your life and calling?
Take a moment and honestly write down what you feel you’ve lost or are grieving right now. Then write a new list of God’s blessings, big or small, and thank Him for each one.
Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You that You are always enough. Help me trust You in every season, even when doors seem closed. Open new doors for me to share Your love clearly and boldly. Teach me to lean on You and find peace no matter my circumstances. Amen. Blog
