A New Revelation of Jesus

A glorious sunrise breaking through dark storm clouds

A New Revelation of Jesus

The day John saw the real Jesus and hit the floor

The Moment John Fell Flat On His Face

Revelation 1.

John’s on Patmos, old, exiled, probably thinking his best days are behind him.

Then a voice like a trumpet blasts:

“I am the Alpha and the Omega.”

He turns…

and sees Jesus.

Not the gentle shepherd holding a lamb.

Not the teacher on the hillside.

This Jesus has eyes like blazing fire,

feet like burnished bronze,

a voice like Niagara Falls,

and a sword coming out of His mouth.

John— the disciple who once leaned on Jesus’ chest at supper—

falls flat on his face like a dead man.

One look at the unveiled Jesus

and the beloved apostle is undone.

The Jesus Most of Us Have Never Met

We love Baby-in-the-manger Jesus.

We love Friend-of-sinners Jesus.

We love Come-to-Me-weary Jesus.

All true.

All precious.

But there’s another revelation we desperately need right now:

King Jesus.

Judge Jesus.

Warrior Jesus who already crushed the serpent’s skull

and holds the keys to Death and Hades in His scarred hand.

He is not pacing heaven worried about the news.

He is not biting His nails over evil’s latest move.

He is standing in the middle of His church

with eyes that burn through every lie

and a voice that drowns out every lesser roar.

Do Not Be Afraid—Because I Already Won

Jesus lays His right hand—the nail-scarred one—on John’s trembling shoulder and says the words we all need tattooed on our souls:

“Do not be afraid.

I am the First and the Last.

I am the Living One.

I was dead, and behold—I am alive forever and ever.

And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”

Translation:

The worst thing that can happen to you

has already been defeated by the best thing that ever happened for you.

Live Like the Victor Already Won (Because He Did)

When you wake up tomorrow and the headlines scream,

look past them to the throne.

When fear knocks,

answer with the voice that once shattered graves:

“My King already holds the keys.”

When evil looks like it’s winning,

laugh the laugh of people who’ve read the last chapter.
