And now, my little children, abide in him; that, if he shall be manifested, we may have boldness, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. (1 John 2:28 ASV)
Abiding in Jesus
How to be ready for Jesus’ return without a single panic attack
The Only Prep That Actually Matters
Want to be ready when Jesus comes back?
Forget checklists.
Forget stockpiling good deeds.
Forget tidying the house last-minute.
There’s only one thing Scripture says:
Abide in Me.
Stay with Me.
Live in Me today.
If you’re doing that, you’re ready.
If you’re not, nothing else will help.
Abiding Isn’t Advanced Christianity; It’s Kindergarten
John calls us “little children” seven times in his letters.
Translation:
“Come on in, kick off your shoes, make yourself at home.”
Abiding isn’t a mystical technique for super-saints.
It’s a kindergartener crawling into Daddy’s lap.
Talk to Him more than you talk to your neighbor.
Think about Him more than you think about tomorrow.
That’s it.
The Proof Shows Up in Everyday Clothes
Abiding always leaks.
You start loving people you used to avoid.
You forgive faster than you used to fume.
You sin less because you’re not trying harder—you’re just closer to Him.
The Holy Spirit does the renovating while you’re simply hanging out in the house.
The Day Jesus Shows Up
Picture this: The sky cracks open.
Trumpets.
Glory.
Two kinds of people:
The frantic cleaner yelling, “Quick, hide the mess!
The kid who’s been playing at Jesus’ feet all day, looking up with a huge grin:
“You’re home!”
John says when He appears,
we’ll have confidence and not shrink back in shame.
Why?
Because we’ve been practicing His presence every ordinary day.
How to Abide Today (Simple Version)
Start the day: “Good morning, Lord.”
End the day: “Good night, Lord.”
Everything in between: keep the conversation going.
That’s the whole master-class.
